Why We Built This Site
Florida keeps most jail and inmate information open to the public, but the hard part is figuring out which office actually holds the record you want. The county sheriff runs the local jail roster, which covers people awaiting court and those serving short county sentences. The Florida Department of Corrections runs a completely separate locator for people sentenced to state prison. Federal and immigration detainees show up in their own national systems. We built this site to gather those rosters, locators, contact numbers, visitation rules, and records-request steps in one spot, so a search starts in the right place instead of a dead end.
